GCF adheres to the Child Protection Act by protecting the identities and confidentiality of our children. Photos used on our site are not necessarily of children in our care. Every effort is made to never publish the names or faces of our children. Please contact us directly should you require more information about the use of photographs on our website.

Weekly “War Room” meetings are held in communities where all stakeholders, families and children meet to discuss challenges and problems. The stakeholders include Police, Social Workers, Health Workers, Teachers, GCF and the traditional leader’s i.e. the Induna who plays an important role in Child Protection.

We invest in good Networking Relationships, and GCF plays an active role in the following:

  • The Hibiscus Municipality – HIV/AIDS Committee

  • Network Action Group – NAG

  • We are a part of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children Working Group, assisting new organizations and CBO’s (Community Based Organizations) in this field, keeping an Orphan Data Base and addressing the needs of affected children in the Hibiscus Municipality Area – OCVAG. GCF is now training people from 21 Municipal Ward Committees in identifying Orphans in their wards and effectively documenting information regarding these children. This information is forwarded to the Working Group in order to ensure that the orphans are being helped and registered at the appropriate resources.

  • Government Forums, Liaison Meetings, the Welfare Liaison Committee on District, Regional and Provincial Level.

The Child Care Manager is also part of a Regional Forum for Child Care Supervisors
